HETEROGENIZATION (Self-) 4)
← Back
"The incorporation of many ways of living, working and thinking into yourself" (M. MARUYAMA, 1994, p.38)
MARUYAMA states: "It can occur in material, behavioral, psychological or logical areas. Everybody practises it, at least in the material sphere ". He gives as an example, eating French, Italian or Chinese food, at times.
However, he adds: "But self-heterogenization in logics or mindscape types occurs much less frequently" (Ibid).
This would cover the incorporation of different views or feelings in one's own mindscape, and could become indispensable for executives of multinational firms transferred from one country to another, whose culture is different.
