"The description of a conceptual system model (CSM) in a natural or formal language"(E. VACCARl & M. D'AMATO, 2000, p. 170)
"A symbolic system model is a representation which involves what is represented, the representation and the modellers i.e. the user of the representation"(Ibid)
The real problem is of course the representation one.
The authors discuss the computational approach and the biomimetic approach, through "animats"(artificial animal-like robots). Here, the question mark is: up to which point do we understand living beings behavior- and especially intelligent behavior- and reproduce it in "animats".
