SIGNAL 1)3)
← Back
"A string or strings of energy and matter in transit between a transmitter and a receiver" (T.F.S. ALLEN & T.B. STARR, 1982, p.277).
According to ALLEN and STARR, "Its meaning is undefined" (Ibid).
This is so, at least, until we use a physical code (acoustic, electromagnetic, etc…) and/or a semantic one, shared by the sender and the receiver, thus endowing the signal with a meaning.
